Making Room to Make More Room...

What is he gonna write next...???

What can I write about...??? Yesterdays adventure with Tom's house ended around 6:30... I did go for another material run to the American Emperor and caught them just as they were closing up... but I was lucky and they still served me, and what an order I had, lots of #14AWG wires in wired colors for all the switching Tom wants to do between his house and the cottage. I thought these guys are open until 6 and that's why I went to get a coffee and some doughnuts first... I needed both so bad in order to make it to the end of this day. Then after getting back to Tom's we wired up the switch-box in the breakfast-room, lots of wires lots of struggle to get them all into this box without cutting the wall open... Finally done, it's time to go home!!!
At home the next disaster was waiting for me... Mr. Scooby, who is now officially retired thinks he does not have to go outside anymore to do his business... therefore keeps on peeing onto the same spot in the hallway... I've had it, it's is time for a litter-box, I guess it is like with people at a certain age they have to start wearing diapers again... for cats it must mean, please give me a litter-box near where I sleep all day because I can't make it outside anymore... to make things worse a little shitty message was laying in the bathtub too...

I think I have to kill him...

He really started doing that while I was gone on my last trip, Eva who was watching him while I was gone reported the same.
Enough of that, lets go and find some food, I'm once more starving... and of corse, no luck with having anything in my fridge and so I ventured out to the place when I don't know what to eat, the Public Market in Emeryville. This time I ended up with a huge super burrito from the taqueria. I order Al Pastor, spicy pork with everything... a meal for 2... to go!!! But before that I went to the pet-store to get a litter-box and they were closed too, it was just 8 o'clock but they did not let me in... what a difference in business. The chinese always ready to make another dollar... the business with the young white kid... sorry we're closed!!!
The rest of the night was just pure exhaustion... digging around on the internet, catching-up with Facebook and watching some amazing video clips of talks from an artist that takes photos of the changed landscape because of the human impact... much like I saw at the MASS MoCA on my visit in the Berkshire Mountains. Edward Burtynsky has this presentation on TED, one of my favorite websites. Go have a look... a bit scary if you know what I mean...
As usual the morning comes way too fast but here it is, Johnny showed up at 8 to prep and paint the ceiling with a final coat... yippee!!! I ran off to go to Truit & White Lumber to order a door for the utility-room and on my way out ran into Rich, his shop is right around the corner, so we hang out a bit and had some coffee and scones, talked about a maybe job out in Napa and lots more, He showed me pictures of his last lab he build. Here is his website. What a guy...
Then off to the local Glass Shop on Dwight Way, UC Glass, to order 3/8" thick glass for my new shelfs in the CD/DVD rack. On the way there I made plans with PeiPei and Kirk to meet for lunch...
And that we did at the 900 Grayson, it's Friday and a beautiful weather and many other reasons to celebrate at a good restaurant. I ordered the Cobb Salad and so did Kirk, PeiPei ordered some other asian type of salad... all was very good, specially with the beer I had...

The gang of three at 900 Grayson...

By the time I got back home Johnny was gone and then I started moving stuff around again... in reverse from a week ago when I had to make room in the studio... more stuff to get rid of, like I have a pile of shoes I haven't worn since who knows how long... and some others I've worn way too long... I am so excited about moving into that space and maybe it might be the last time... it's 3... I better make myself a cup of coffee and find some time to take a nap... otherwise I ain't gonna make it to the dance tonight!!!

The "almost" complete studio...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
