Starting the weekend with yoga is always a good thing, for body and mind!!! The usual outing to the nearby bakery Sweet Adeline is the stat to a great weekend... First I had to go to San Leandro to meet a potential new client for some electrical work. A metal-shop that just purchased a new laser-catting machine and needs to be powered properly... quite a interesting project, I have to do some paperwork for that one, calculate a new feeder from the main-panel to a new sub-panel in 480V 3 Phase, then a transformer to bring the supply-voltage down to 240 or 207V 3 phase with an other distribution panel for the new equipment. Such a laser-cutting machine is not a stand-alone deal, there is the actual Laser unit with a 4000 Watt Laser-diode... a whee bit too high to do eye-surgery, then there is a chiller, a beam purge unit and a dust collector, boy I can't wait to see that puppy in action. So I went into this dark shop, lots of machines in a different dimension and all very old, way in the back of the shop they do have a few newer CNC machines (computer navigated cutting) this company makes parts for the near by Gillig busses, well hopefully more about this later. My old friend Steven Pellitteri revered me to this gig, his shop is right across the street from his shop, Urban Edge... the men that can make anything out of metal... So of corse I had to go and visit with him a bit, haven't seen him for too long... the strange thing is that on Thursday I was thinking about him, he broke his leg sometime in November and we talked about getting together for a beer and dinner what we used to do for years more regularly, but lately we've been very week in doing so... and we always promise of doing it soon!!! Also his wife Lori stopped by, now I haven't seen her who knows how long... her hair is now colored dark redish... but she looks very good, she came by to drop-off the dog and give me some information about next weekends about a party...
A visit of the headquarter of Urban Edge...

I had to get going, still needed to buy a litter-box for Mr. Scoob... I'm telling you, I'm still pissed at him, now I have a board across the top of the stairs to keep him away form his favorite spot to pee... sorry Mr.!!! Then a bit of grocery-shopping at Trader Joe's, dang they are still out of my favorite chocolate... and then a stop at the nearby Peet's for a refill of my commuter mug... ahhh now the day is almost complete... it's time for a nap, pass the 3 o'clock time-zone, looking inward... I was listening to the radio while driving around and there was a speech by Fareed Zakaria and he's talking about todays crisis at the Joint Venture Silicon Valley Conference it is just amazing the way he looks at things... unfortunately no audio file is available... yet!!!
Public Art in Emeryville... Are we Zipping-up or down???
