Another small step toward completion...

Yesterday was a long day at the Chick-a-Pea place... getting it ready for inspection. Still, by the end of the day, and I'm talking about 7 pm we were still not quite done. At least at home something got done... Victor finished all wood-work, packed-up all his tools and moved on to the next project, it is looking soooo damn gooood... next is the push for getting all the dust done by Friday noon so Rosa the cleaning-lady can give my house a real good sweep... it needs it desperate!!! So I better keep Johnny for that time so he can continue varnishing and prepping for paint by Friday... if I get the last of the mudding done!!!
Men I was tired in the morning... I couldn't sleep very good, woke up around 4 and then lots of tossing and turning. Had to make my Chai Tea and a yogurt/granola for breakfast... before Johnny shows up, then another run to Orchard Supply Hardware to get more stuff for the finishing. Fiddle around some more with one of the build-in boxes and then meet Rich at the Chick-a-Pea place again for more abuse on my body... He was hurting too!
Also there is this contractor there who does all the structural work, the first time I met him he sounded so darn familiar until it dawned on me that he sounds and acts just like Tom Guidry in Walker Louisiana, Karen's cousin's husband. So I had to make a little interview with him so I can send this to Tom, his wife Brenda, Karen and Moto... will see what they have to say to that.

Then the bad news was that some of the lights we placed yesterday where on the wrong spot... well then, lets do them again. This time we marked the location on the floor and with Rich's laser-level transfer it onto the ceiling... like we should have done the first time. Then there was the outside lighting, the bath-room and more equipment wiring needed... looks like another full day.
For lunch Rich and I went next door in the other direction then yesterday to the Thai place, very good food for a reasonable price. Also for the hole time we had to keep track of the parking-meters outside and keep feeding them hourly, I think it's about a dollar fifty per hour per truck!!!
Just around 3 o'clock I found another way to bring more power to a new wall for the ice-box and some other equipment,so just another small step toward completion...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
