Feeding the Parking-meter...

Whoa, last night I created a dust-bomb... and it went off big time. I had to cut a concrete footing down by about a quarter inch, the boxes we build for the sub-woofer are too big for the opening I prepared for, that's what you get if an electrician measures these things and the carpenter does not check before building these 19 inch high by 26 inch wide and 22 inch deep... Victor usually does the measuring himself, but that morning is when I told him that Johnny is taking too much time sanding and he got offended by it and so he just thought that he then should use MY measurements instead of making sure that they work... but so it is, 2 days later I'm here by myself and I have to grind down this footing... first I use the Skillsaw with a concrete blade on it to cut grooves, then I use the power-hammer or by hand to take out the material to the bottom of the grooves. Now cutting with that Skillsaw was brutal... dust just about everywhere... ohh boy, but that will settle too!!!
A distorted picture of the boxes for the sound-system, the small once to the upper-right are for CD's and DVD's and to the lower-left you see Scooby's own door to the outside world!!!

After that I mix-up some mud to start filling puncture-holes and scratches to get these walls smooth again, also have to instal some more end-pieces along the door-jambs to mud them in too, I just did one to see how it'll work.
But other than that... I would say that Victor should be able to finish the rest tomorrow, placing and securing this box and the baseboard all around... lets hope.
It was late by the time I showered and got myself some to eat. Heated-up the chinese leftover and added some egg to it to stretch it a bit further, a beer with that and then catch-up on computer-work before laying down to continue reading... what??? about 3 pages and then my eyelids getting too heavy!!!
It's 8 in the morning and here are the guys... ready to go... with a bit more correction on that opening we finally are able to slide that box into place... still not 100% but I can live with it... nothing that caulk and foam can't fix, right??? Then we work out the baseboard details, how to do the corners and what not. By 9 I was waiting for Rich at the Chick-a-pea place while he was waiting at his office for me... ha ha ha!!! Anyway, back to making some money... placing and wiring-up all the lights and get that place ready for sheet-rock. By 10 o'clock I already got my first parking ticket, 44 dollars for exceeding time in a commercial zone. Alright then lets park in the metered zone and start feed the meters and set the timer on the cell-phone for a reminder. By the 2nd round Rich went to the bank to get rolls of quarters.
For lunch we went to the Triple Rock Brewery right next door and ordered burgers... unfortunately without a beer... I have fond memories of that place form the past, boy did I spend a lot of time there in the late 80's and early 90's, and here I am again... just looking at the beers gives me almost a hangover!!!
# o'clock was next and Rich is feeding the meters while I make-up boxes... fun, fun, fun...

Rich is feeding the meters for 2 vans... while I'm in high places!!!

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
