All day now I've been stuck on the dinner-table writing this blog, catching-up with the many days I'm behind. it's time to do something different, Eva and I wanted to go on a hike into the Redwoods, a local adventure, that is always worth doing. I pick her up at her home a block up from my street. Good to see her again. We're buzzing-up on Ashby Ave. in my dirty car, get to the Domingo Street Peet's for a cup of coffee, my desire, and a piece of Lemon-bar, Eva's desire, then take the back-road to the Redwood Regional Park, Skyline Boulevard Gate. An almost 2 hour long hike on the East Ridge Trail, then back to each others homes. I attack the garden for some time, a hopeless task to weed that darn piece of land. Where to start, I guess I doesn't matter right now, anywhere is fine. I can see that there are lots of plums ripening in my old tree, good, I'm ready to make some more plum-jam, plum-chrisps and plum-pies... While I'm wondering when and how I'm gonna do all these things I get the call I was waiting for. Annelise is getting back to me to see what the plan is for dinner is. I'd say I pick her up and then see what we feel eating. And the decision was going for Chinese. We tried a new place in downtown Oakland, right across the street from the EBMUD Building on Webster Street. We ordered some Eggplant, Vegetable Chow-Mein, Broccoli-Beef. Enough to feed a small family, and very good. What I liked about that place was that at that time we were the only "white" people in there, the rest was all asians. I always like that, I feel like I'm in a authentic place. The price seemed authentic too. After I dropped Annelise in front of her house I went back home to type just one more paragraph, before my lights wet out.
Scooby is helping me with that...
NOT!!!
Wednesday, July 1st... what it's July already???
I'm barely awake again I'm already back at that darn computer, I need to finish this writing to get back home, and since then I already have more to report. Not even a muessly for breakfast, just a black tea, and some more of that Peanut-butter with Jelly and a slice of Bread. I kind of feel like living still on the road, except that I'm at home. Still no time to go to the store or a slight thought about making some money here soon. I finally get my act together and start some laundry. The pile of dirty cloth has not diminished since I got back and soon I have to get going again, like tomorrow afternoon!
For lunch I made a plan to meet with Yasmina, she is going to Greece next week and be nice to see her before that. I haven't seen her for maybe a year.
So, I meet her after she has lunch with her friend, while I was hoping to have some lunch there too, but as things go I meet Yasmina at a different place and so lunch got scrapped.
When I meet her I learn that she had a broken ankle and is still walking with a cane to help support. Sounded like a horrible story but off she goes to Greek to vacationing on a sailboat. Can't feel too bad for her. We go to her house and have some tea and talk about accidents and road-trips.
It's 3 o'clock when I'm saying good-bye to Yasmina...
The first picture I just made it into it... the second one her neighbor took!!!
