Snapping out of a Nap...

I'm driving a wee bit too intense, somehow I'm thinking that the first yoga-class is at 5, and it is 8 minutes before now. I'm turning left right after Boonville onto Mountain Road. The last 25 miles of a narrow and curvy road but one of my favorite roads to drive. In 1993 I had a job installing telephone switch-gear for Northern Telecom in Point Arena and for some reason I got to dive to Boonville a few times. The most memorable drive was with this rather large guy forgot, his name, he had a Isuzu kind of like a Jeep Wrangler, and he drove that thing like a bat out of hell. And that's almost how I'm driving my Honda through these mountains now. Would be fun to have a Mazda Miata, but my Civic Wagon is doing an amazing job to hang in these curves. 40 minutes later I park my car at the OZ Farm. I'm in Heaven now!!!

And of corse the class did not start at 5, just another fantasy in my head, instead I meet the gang looking at who is going to be in which cabin. The gang so far is Christoph, the teacher, Elizabeth, Daniel, Tina, Laura, Dan, 2 other guys in motorcycle-outfits, Jenn and Scott, and two other women I never met before, Ann Marie and Lori. In the kitchen is Nancy and that is a fabulous sight, that means the food will be awesome.

Later we have a short yoga-class. By that time Thierry, his wife Jennifer, their daughter Lena and her girlfriend had arrived too. Another guy Sam, I never met before was in class too.
My favorite pose was being in Child-pose and then a blanket over me and another person laying on top with the back onto mine and the head laying in my neck-cries, to get out I would just slowly rise and the person on top of me would slide off.

After class was time to have our first drinks and the appetizers, while Erika and Lawrence settled in too

  • Stuffed small Peppers
  • Hummus dip and Pita-chips

For dinner we had:

  • Stuffed Tomatoes and Peppers
  • Veggie Lasagna
And last but not least... dessert:

  • Baklava, home-made by Nancy
The whole meal finished with doing the kitchen-chores and finishing more bottles of wine!!!

At some point of time I went back out to the hot-tub to check if the water is getting warmer. Earlier I started a fire and filled the tub with fresh water, I'm looking forward for some good soaks with a starry sky!!!

Friday July 3rd, 2009... today earth is at aphelion, its greatest distance from the Sun for the year.

At nine in we have another yoga-class after having some coffee tea, and toast. This time the class is about 2 hours long and Chris is doing a pretty good job torturing us, with standing-posses and lots of inversions. My favorite was the block under my back right between the shoulder-blades. But that passes too and than it's time to eat again. Starting with more snacks until lunch was served. I helped with making a salad-dressing.

Lunch menu:

  • Lentil-soup
  • Tofu-salad
  • lots of Bread
  • Fruit-salad for dessert
The helping with the kitchen clean-up, chatting and hanging out until my eyes and mind were telling me to go back to my cabin to take a long nap...

It's 3 o'clock time to wake-up from the land of dreams...
Wish I could remember what the dream was!!!

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
