Pit-stopping in Nashville, TN, bizarre clouds when back in the air...
My flight gets a wee bit delayed too, but I still land at 10:30 pm in Hartford, claim my bag, find the shuttle that gets me back to the car and get ready to drive to Abbot and Sarah Cutler in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts. A little incident with another guy who didn't want to let me in front of him to get out of the long term parking, but I still squeezed in after I let 3 cars go and no-one let me in. Screw him and his bad attitude, he actually stepped out of the car and wanted to know what makes me more important than him to get out before him. Sorry pal, when I got to the side of this lane you where not even standing in line! The guy at the toll-booth was about the slowest person one could hire to do this job. he wanted to know my zip-code and that took almost a minute to find the 5 numbers on his key-board, I paid him 19.95 to open the gate so I can go about my business. At 11:20 I finally hit the road. Back on I-91 North and just a few miles later I was in Massachusetts and after 40 miles I got of the interstate to get through Northhampton, I needed to get some gas. 8.572 Gallons for 2.319 a Gallon. Then it gets real rural.Just before 1 in the morning I step onto the porch of Abbot and Sarah's house. They are already in the land of dreams, and I was too soon after. Out on the porch, it is my favorite place to sleep.
I sleep pretty late into the morning, it was a cold night, I think it dropped down into the lower 40's, but I stayed warm in the bed. I didn't really wanted to leave this toasty place.
What fun to see my friends again, and as always there is a lot going on here at the Cutler Ranch, the garden needs to be planted, grass needs to be cut, wood to be stacked, beer to be drank, and most important food to be eaten, just my kind of place. Of corse I have my own agenda, blogs need to be written and photos to be edited and e-mails to be answered... what else is new!!!
The newest thing is that they have WiFi now at the house, via a dish, it sounds a bit complicated with the baud-rate but I'll give it a try. The other thing is the pond, when I was here in late January everything here was frozen solid, now it's a different deal, this pond is calling my name, I can clearly hear it!!! But first I wanted to get really hot, so I bike to Ashfield, the nearest town about 3 miles away, go to the store to buy some Burger-Buns, drop a letter into the mailbox and on the way back stop by the local farm to get a 1/2 gallon of Raw Milk and a pint of Yogurt, by the time I get back I'm so ready for a swim!
The new pond, the first time we met you were frozen solid, loot at in now...
I
It's 3 and time for Jumping into the pond...
