I'm shopping here at Langenstein's for food-souvenirs to distribute to my future places. Things like the Creole Mustard, Steen's Cane-syrup are always a winner. And don't let me forget a few other things I need right now to feed me through the next few miles, then back onto the bike to get back to Karen's, I'm sleepy and way behind in the nap department.
It must have been way past 6 when I try to wake-up again, it is hot and it is hard to move around, I did hear to phone ring a couple of times, but that did not got my out of my dream-world. It was Sabine calling me to find out the address she is supposed to meet this person to show her yet another place for her to rent. She is planing on moving here to New Orleans for good, why, you might ask, why??? Because she loves it here, that's why.
I convince Karen to go with me to Sam's Club, a store much like Costco, but not, because she is a member and I'm not. I needed to buy more motor-oil for the Honda, and since I've been using the synthetic kind of oil that is a wee bit more expensive. I though on saving a few bucks by going to Sam's Club, then we also could buy another thing of laundry-detergent and something else. But what a disappointment, we left the place empty-handed, had to cross the street and go to the Auto Zone to buy the oil. I had more success there and we went back home, hungry and ready to eat some left-over form yesterdays party.
Sabine gets back form her adventures, looking for a new place and a few drinks with her friend Amy, while we're warm-up some pizza, make some more Salad and have a simple dinner together, we kill a bottle of white wine, while I refuse to turn on the A/C to cool the place down. What wimps all these people are...
A lovely evening that is spend in front of the computer to catch-up with René's Digital World, a never ending task, it probably was 2 o'clock before I went to bed. Practically dead...
In the morning same of the same, making another batch of Chai Tea, sitting at the bar here in Karen's kitchen, while she goes to work again and Sabine finishes her packing to takes-off and fly back to San Francisco. I write, edit and sort pictures, upload them and sort them again, do some e-mailing and eat some breakfast and deal with more pictures, but I'm excited because today we have another great plan that I wanted to do with Karen and Moto.
It's not even one yet and Karen is already coming back home from work, I'm still sitting on the same side of the bar and wait to finish another batch of uploading pictures. We eat some sandwiches together and then we have to start to prepare for our next adventure. But when Lindy walks into the door both Karen and I are sitting in front of our computers and Lindy could not help himself with the remark that we are in the 21st century, 2 people in the same room each on a different computer not talking to each other. I get the bikes, gather-up all the bike-gear while Moto is driving into the driveway. The party is complete and lets fit all the stuf into two cars... somehow I missed to take any pictures in the last 24 hours, including a 3 o'clock shot and so this entry is just what it is... a lot of words!!!

And what about Me???

- René Schaub
- Berkeley, California, United States
- My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
