What a Blog it is...

So, here I am, back at Todd's place. A short inspection of his place tells me that not much has changed, he still has tons of his art all over the place, I'm sure there are more pictures up and some are gone, but most of it looks the same. One big change is the living-room, the tumbleweed is gone and instead he has a big-screen TV there, with surround sound and all the bells and whistles, can't wait to watch a movie tonight. But first we have to and meet his dad Stuart, whom I haven't seen the last time I was here for some reason I could not remember, he lives in an apartment not far away from Todd. A cool guy, with lots of spark and no more teeth, he is waiting for his dentures to arrive in a few weeks, but that's beside the point. He is a real talent, lots of paintings fill his walls, replications he painted and photographs Todd made, just another artist's pad. We go for dinner to this salad and soup place in town called Vinaigrette. This place calls itself hip new bistro. A nice place, food is great even though I could have eaten 3 more plates of this salad I had, but by the time we left I was actually fine.

Visiting Todd's Dad, Stuart then together dinner at the Vinaigrette...

We dropped Stuart off at his home and went back to Todd's to watch Slumdog Millionaire what a great movie, well done and gives you the feeling you're right there, and boy what a tough life... and what a way to tie the story-line into the reality and then back into the past of this boy's life. Many of these scenes reminded me on a book I read 2 years ago "Shantaram" a gripping story of an Australian who lived in a slum in Bombay, and lots more. Anyway, the Slumdog is a great movie, highly recommend it if you like to get a feel of India, but of corse I've never been there and therefore not really know what I'm writing about. Again more work at the computer with writing and picture editing so we all have some to look at later... before falling asleep I had to read more kitchen adventures. I'm now totally exhausted after finishing the chapter were he describes an ordinary day in his life as a chef.
In the morning Todd and I bike over to his favorite breakfast joint, the Aztec Cafe where we both order a breakfast buritto with a very hot chilly sauce over it.

Breakfast at the Aztec Cafe...

back at the house we both grind our noses on the computer-screens and get nothing good done...
3 o'clock catches me by surprise and I was sitting outside to catch some of the sun, I think Mr. Todd is in the land of dreams...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
