Taking Care of the Doctor..

Last night Eva, my neighbor from up the street, came over for dinner and a movie... Eva produced a pasta with broccoli dish and salad. Stuart offered the wine and I supplied the left-over dessert and any help with cooking... I also made a big batch of ginger and lemon brew spiced with cayenne pepper for the healing of Stuart, he's been dealing with this cold for too long and it is time to end his misery... I was out earlier picking lemons of the tree to make room for new once.
During dinner we discussed Eva's kind of work, or goals of her work, as in workshops she is giving or leading. Stuff for self-empowerment, guidance for career changes toward a new realization and then also singles group. It was interesting and Stuart filled in a few blanks and signed-up as a guest-speaker for the singles meeting... kind of funny to picture the room full of singles, mostly women and then this hunk of men shows up and putts it down the way he deals with making a new relationship.
It was late when we finally watched the movie. "He Loves Me... He Loves Me Not" with Audrey Tauton. A french movie, a love-story or just plain confusion. But in the end we found out that all was just a crazy fantasy of this girl, played by Audrey, and figured that she is really crazy. I own this movie... not even know why, or since when, but we looked at it because we're too lazy to go to the store to rent one. I watched the beginning years ago and thought that this is just a stupid love-story, but last night I sat through the whole movie and I was surprised of how good of a movie it is. So let me know if you wanna watch it too, it's here to be given away.
Another late night it turned out... and I had a hard time waking-up in the morning. First thing I was supposed to go by Tom's house because he ask me last night if I could go over to look at the boiler and some circuit that does not work. He is out of town and Karen is not sure what to look for. But then Stuart was cooking this most delicious breakfast, fried potatoes and some fried eggs that I could not resist and so I got there a bit later... by that time I did talk with Karen and she says that the heater is working but some outlets in her studio are still out... alrighty then, off I went and it just took me 5 minutes to find what circuit breaker was popped, reset it, check it and back in business... the funny thing was that the circuit breaker was marked "DISHWASHER" but actually was the studio on the second floor and another bedroom... oh well, the joy of the electrical world is endless... Also Dr DiRocco, my dentist, called me and needed help with a light what went out this morning, he speculates that it is the ballast because all four fluorescent lamps went out at the same time. I listened to that message while I was driving to Tom's house and then kind of forgot about it... After Tom's quick fix I went to the American Emperor, the chinese guys, for some electrical stuff for my house. I needed more trims for the recessed lights, 2 dimmers, stainless steel cover-plates and some phone, network and CTV points to complete the trim-out of the studio. 250 dollars later and a extra long wait that got me into a bad mood because sometimes these guys there don't pay attention in what order the customers are coming in and then I had to wait forever for a guy to write-up the tag.
But then I was all charged-up to do some work. I'm ready to get that closet organized. First I had to change the opening of the rough opening for the new door to the utility closet, then start installing the closet-rods to see if my ideas work. And so far it does. I have to get as much as possible into that closet to make it practical and smart, photos will follow at some point when it is finished. Then all of a sudden I remembered to take care of the dentist office... I made a quick call to confirm that it is the ballast and then off to Graniger to get the ballast... when I payed for it it was exactly 3 o'clock... by 3:15 I was at the office and 3:45 I was done... now time for coffee and continue on the closet...

  1. Is, "Eva produced a pasta with broccoli dish and salad," code word for hanky panky?

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
