A Day for the Birds...
It started this morning... I go outside to curb all the recyclables, paper, cardboard, all that plastic stuff, a green bin that I almost can't move because it is filled with weeds and a trash-can that is heavy too because I've been chopping up larger pieces of wood and stuff to clean-up my place... so I'm standing out on the street and noticed a peculiar bird-call... or is is a grasshopper??? More of a chirping than whistling, then there were other calls from a few different birds... ahh must be spring in the air... but somehow I don't feel it, got up early this morning but could not get my butt into gear, getting some stuff done to the house, reinventing the closet, change some switches and dimmers, put on plates... boing, its almost 2 o'clock... what in the hell happen, I need some lunch. How about warming-up some of that french lentil-soup Stuart made about a week ago, it need to be finished, he certainly is sick of it, and I hadn't had any for a few days, now it's the time... then a desperate call for coffee to jolt me back in action... but it seems to fail too... it's past 3 and I not even have any special thing to report about... ohh yes, more birds hanging out in the backyard all eager to fight for prime reality on the few trees here... probably nest being build everywhere, and song being whistled to fend of intruders or attract partners. There was a time last year when I didn't hear any birds and I was wondering where they all went, is this area just a pit-stop on a longer track up north???

And what about Me???

- René Schaub
- Berkeley, California, United States
- My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
