NOT Just another Saturday...

Last night was fun. Stuart cooked, his friend Nancy came over and so did Susan and we all enjoyed a great meal. First some salad with backed Brie and some toasted french bread, then a french lentil-soup with toasted pita bread, with that discussions of different topics. Stuart tried to explain to us on what kind of project he is working on, he is developing some-kind of a program that kids could learn about nutritional facts and a lot more. Nancy is a landscape architect and works for a bigger firm in San Francisco, and Susan teaches gardening and food-growing at a school in San Francisco, she also has a garden in Mill Valley from where she grows salads for a restaurant, and she is a doctor of holistic healing... so all three had strong ties to each other and I enjoyed the lively conversation until it got late and I had to remind them that the arty we all wanted to go to will only go until 11, so we better get moving here soon.
Steve Pellitteri, told me about this party the last time I was at his shop. He said he'll try to have a piece there and his wife Lori has some of her art on display. It was a warehouse party in the Andy Warhole's style of a New York City Factory Party, right here in Emeryville, just a few minute from my house. We get there and there are tons of people, the parking-lot was filled they were spilling out on the smaller side-streets and parking wasn't easy to find. We get in and the place is filled with people, some music but not loud, about 30'000 square feet of party and gallery space, filled with paintings, sculptures and many other medias. Most of it is from employees of Amoeba Music and East Bay Express, these two organized this party and it was fabulous. We cruised around and soon I got separated from my little group when I found Steve sitting there talking with a friend, we had a brief chat and he told me where I could find his tree-sculpture he made. Never saw Lori but admired her paintings, he style changed drastically in the last few years.

After the party started to close down we went back home to have some dessert, I bought a carrot-cake at Trader Joe's and it was real good...
Susan and I spend some time together in my temporary bedroom, it was 2 o'clock when she hit the road to get back home, that is 2 am... boy, it was difficult to get to sleep and even more difficult to get up in the morning to be in time for yoga class.
Chris tried to kill us, I'm convinced of that, we did standing poses and stayed for long times, all preparing us for backbends until we finally did these too... in the end there was not even enough time for a proper "shevasana" the corpse pose to regroup your body-parts. Then our routine to go to Sweet Adelaine for some to eat and chat. I needed some groceries from Berkeley Bowl, then home for some real food, that sweet stuff is not satisfying enough. I also made an appointment for a hair-cut with Rosalva at the Albany Hair Salon, after that to go by Auto Plus to see if Naim or Ali, the Gardizzi Brothers, are around... Ali was there but a bit busy so we could not talk for too long. SO onward to Vic's to buy some spices I need for the kitchen, and tea for the Chai.

Here I am at the Albany Hair Salon, while Rosalva is cutting away...

Here is Vic's, his store, the long line to get some to eat and the announcement of his move...

Back home I had to make a batch of Chai Tea, Stuart and Nancy were just eating breakfast... and I was ready for another Tamale with some salsa and an avocado. By 3 o'clock I set-up a place in the downstairs so I can start writing here... cool feeling and inspiring too... what you say???

Set-up my computer to write in my new space...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
