Getting it Done in a New Way...

Hanging out with Sharon and Howard from New York City. They arrived in the Bay Area last weekend while I was playing around in Southern California. I know Howard through the Great Mother Conference I went to in 2003, and in 2004 when I toured the East Coast with Elaine I met his girlfriend Sharon.
I give the official tour of my house, since they never have been here before, they couldn't judge nor appreciate the progress I've made to it. But never the less they did like the house, the neighborhood and Berkeley, a place they're thinking of to retire. Sharon works for the Disney cooperation in the publishing department and Howard is a postal worker, he walks a route in Manhattan. Before we got to the house I showed them Berkeley Bowl, always a treat to see the amazement of newbies when they see the selection of bulk-goods and the fresh produce, it amazes me every-time I'm there of how many different apples, bananas, oranges or whatever there is they have. The next stop on the way home is the post-office for my neighborhood, that lady is always a trip, and Howard enjoyed meeting her too.

Dinner-time was approaching and a plan of attack is needed to figured out what to eat and where to go. Mexican food was on Howards mind and so we went to El Picante on 6th Street, one of my favorite Mexican Taquerias, the place is always busy packed for dinner, and we had to stand in line for a bit before we could order. Sharon and Howard ordered a burrito each and I ordered a tostada salad with carne asada, grilled steak, is what I order most of the time when I'm going there. I love to watch the lady who is making the fresh tortillias, I think everything is made fresh in this place, and that's why it is a success and most delicious.
After dinner I drop them off at their friend's house way up in the hills of Piedmont, right there where I was working on Monday, what a coincidence and small world that is. Audrie and Michael's house looks huge from the outside, a view of the Bay Area to die for, they also know the house I worked on on Monday.
I made plans with Eva to meet for a movie and so I went to pick her up at home and we went to Reel and rented "Savages" and I liked it quite a bit. More funny than sad, like the description mentions "making us simultaneously laugh and cry". It is the story of a dysfunctional sister, brother trying to take care of their father that just lost his girlfriend and needed to move into a assistant living home.

I had a hart time getting out of bed in the morning, I had a headache since last night and it did not feel much better in the morning, and so I covered my eyes and slept another couple of hours. From then on you know the day flies by, finally working on writing invoices, book-keeping and also set-up the new Palm Pilot I got for the trip. I also bought a keyboard that connects via bluetooth with it, that too had to be set-up. This way it will be a lot easier to write on the fly, during my many hours driving, while getting places without setting-up the computer all the time. After that I just have to sync-it with the Mac and post it onto this blog-site... Easy as one two three...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
