Driving for Materials...

Interesting evening it was last night. Annelise came by for a visit and we went together to Bacheeso Bistro for a bit to eat, a simple place to go with good food fresh and fast... buffet style, what I did, or a la card, what Annelise did and once in a while her fork slipped over into my plate to try this or that... specially when it came to the dessert. The reason we went there was, that it is close to Cafe Trieste for the next adventure. David's Medicine Ball Band was playing from 7:30 to 10:30 and I thought it might be good to see them for a bit. And it was, unfortunately Annelise was not up to the task and split. I went in for a couple of hours, had a beer, met two guys from Manhattan and then I walked home. The band sounded great, as usual lots of fun and always a few special appearances, like this amazing saxophone Andrew Beal. No dancing because too many people taking up all the space with sitting around.

Yofe collecting money for the band...
From An Evening with the Medicine Ball Band

It rained a lot during the night, luckily not during my walk home, but in the morning on my way to work and many time in between. I stoped at this place again to take this shot of the city in the sunshine while I was in the rain...

I'm in the rain... the city in the sunshine...
From Bay Area Beauty...

The workday started at Tom's house, figuring out the new feeder for his cottage in the back of the house and a few other things to keep Audelle busy while I made up a parts list to get later today. At 11 we had to go to another job-site, where I was working all of last year, to hang-up 2 more light-fixtures, no sweat... one thinks... but wait, until you see the box, the fixture for the stairway came in... 140 pounds reads the shipping label... I start to get nervous because I know where it is hanging from and I hope it will hold it... 140 pounds is a wee bit much for that kind of set-up. But then as we unpack it all I guess the fixture weights like 60 pounds or so, much more agreeable with my mind.

At 2 o'clock we ate our Burritos Tom bought for us and I think we were done with that fixture... what an ordeal to get the hanging part right because the hardware that came with it would not work with that box. Basically nice looking S-hook on the drawings, but in reality... not possible in todays j-boxes to hang a fixture like that. Clean-up and pack everything back into the van and back to Tom's, just to drop Audelle off and I had to go to the supply house, buy more to work more... and that is when the clock strikes 3... driving down on Harrison Street in Oakland, not raining at the moment but soon it will...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
