The Golden Gate Swiss Club had the Fondue dinner last night, that meant cheese, cheese and more cheese with "Kirsch" and ohh yes, lots of bread and believe it or not... I didn't take a single picture... I was too tired to think about it, even though the camera was on the table the whole time. It was also Urs Ryser's birthday... Our swiss watchmaker timed his birthday just right for the Fondue and the whole place was singing "Happy Birthday"... all of the 110 Fondue-lovers, it was a lot of fun with music and dance!!!
So instead of really waking-up I called Christoph and Ina in Schaffhausen, Switzerland to see if anybody is home there, and yes I was in luck, it has been way too long that we talked together and so we set-up our computers to skype with each other, a fun way to communicate in todays world, with live picture and sound, and all for free... what a world we live in. And come to find out that all is well in good old Switzerland, it's cold and rainy or snowy... just like here, except we're having a few °F more to offer. Also I got the dates of their visit to the US, that means more trips have to be planed... maybe Glacier National Park up in Montana...
Skyping across the world...

Okay, I better don't start thinking about stuff like that... it is time to get out of bed and get something to eat... I'm starving!!!
How about my usual stuff, granola with yogurt, some apple and banana??? Na, why don't I just toast some of the walnut-cranberry bread I have, with some butter and the special jam Jutta brought all the way from Switzerland, the rose-hip jam... yes, not that door-jam stuff I had all week long!!! Then some tea with that because I can't make Chai this morning... absolutely too much work...
During breakfast I started doing paper-work... going through receipts and start entering them into Quicken, I'm way behind in this stuff too, have not even finished December yet and I have to get ready to my taxes soon before I hit the road again. Now doing this kind of stuff really make the time go by... next thing is... yes, right 3 o'clock... and I'm sooooo ready for a nap... but I do have a date with Susan later today and so I better don't start thinking about that stuff. She is cooking some dinner and we'll watch the Academy Awards...
Lot of rain today... a good thing to watch this through the kitchen door...
