What a Place...

Ahh, being back in the bay Area is a great thing, even though I sure would like to think about other things than how to make some serious money to pay the upcoming bills, but that's just it, it is time to get back to work. But not until tomorrow. The other good thing to be back home is to go over to San Francisco with BART, I'm walking up to the Ashby Station, get a fare to Civic Center, $3.50, and soon I'm in the train. Luckily the first train that came is a San Francisco bound train so I don't have to transfer. Less than 25 minutes later I'm crawling up the long set of stairs to get me to Market Street. left down on 8th, a few blocks later I'm in front of Christina's apartment-building, that is Moto's daughter. What unit??? I don't know and so Moto just meets me down at the street. We go fro a coffee and a snack to the nearby Laundromat/Coffee-shop and hang out until it's time to go back to meet Christina and Greg, that is her boyfriend.
We climb into his car and buzz over to the Noe Valley to find the impossible to find parking-spot near the place we're going to have dinner. We finally make it and get to Eric's Restaurant before the James Duo arrives. We each order a dish of some sort, and I want a beer. All kind of food appears soon and we're eating away, while talking and drinking. Fun stories from the 2 Jameses and the news update from the Weekend in Jenner with Christine and Moto. Great food we're having here. I end up with a pile to take home. After dropping mother and daughter off at home Greg gives me a ride home so much easier than dealing with BART.

Tuesday, July 07... 10 years ago I moved into my house here!!!
Full moon this morning at 4:20

I wake-up before the alarm, I have tons of things to do, organizing my room, garage and kitchen. need to put away my camping-gear, wash cloth, fix this and find that. Like the false alarm I rang when I told Chris, the Yoga Teacher, that I miss my photo-bag. But no, it was laying in my closet, where I left it. It's time to get it all back in order. I have my first appointment with a new client this morning. At 11 I have to be in San Anselmo.

Sighting of a warning...
What could be wrong with this Liftgate???

As I'm driving on the Interstate towards the I-80/580 split I have this flashback,  like I was driving in he same direction a  few month ago, when it was the start of my trip around the country... I kind of wish I be still on the road, instead of going to look at a job. But that's not the right attitude my friend, lets think positive about having this "other" life. I find the place, it is a great house behind a big driveway circle. Some of other work is going on I can tell. These clients are waiting for me now since a few weeks, it is a job that Flint started and couldn't finish because he had to go back to India. Now it's my turn. I meet the lady of the house and she introduces me to all the projects I have to take care of. I make my list, measure things and scratch my head a lot... what a mess this place is. At least it is a most beautiful day, wish I could go to the beach now and enjoy the rest of the day. But no, I have another appointment this afternoon back in Berkeley. On my way home I stop at Lamer Electric, boy did I say Lamer again??? I do mean Laner Electric, can't help myself to call them Lamer, they are lame, but on  my way to check on a few things for this project I just looked at. Then over to Costco, I'm hungry and I need a ton of sugar to make some plum-jam here in the next few days, and while I'm here might as well have my Polish Hot-Dog ohh so good!!! This was a 12 dollar lunch, a Dog and 20 Lb of Sugar.
Next is to meet this other new client in the Uplands of Berkeley. I find the house, right next to this mega busy Tunnel road, but once you turn into this driveway it's a different world, a story-world.
This place is kind of a medieval House build in the early 1900. A trip to be there, hell to figure things out what I have to figure out...

It's past 3 o'clock when I find the opportunity to take 3 o'clock picture...
A midevil Storytelling House in Berkeley!!!

  1. Ha! you called chris to tell him you were missing a bag? I bet that was the *last* thing he needed after Nancy lost all my stuff... and Laurie posted about her lost stuff... really put a damper on the weekend for me. Well, that and the motorcycle clutch problem and the chill - it was really too cold for me to do yoga, I kept getting cramps constantly on Saturday morning.

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
