This was more than a power-nap, I'd call it sleeping in the afternoon, and it is hard to wake-up again, but I have to because the action is starting now. Somehow Rosa the Cleaning-specialist and her Daughter are long gone, the house smells of freshly released Chlorine and Annelise is coming over soon. Drinks,is what's the start, but that will turn into dinner. It gets even better when the phone rings and Marc Sobers calls, a friend from Lafayette, Louisiana. He's on it's way to Berkeley, and so I offer him to stay at my house. There is a bit of a sad story behind that, Marc planed this trip for some time, he told me when I saw him in April about his plan, then connected with him via Facebook and followed him when he left Lafayette to go to New Mexico, Arizona into Utah. Now, last night his car broke down and today he abandoned it in Fallon, Nevada, and is driving a rental car, cutting his trip short, instead of going from Reno to Northern California, then come here, along the coast, he's now on I-80 straight to the Bay Area. By now Annelise and I are on drink #2 and she calls Sally Hicks to join us while we start cooking some dinner. Then it all comes together. Sally showes-up dinner is served and Marc getts here just in time to eat. It's a party now.

Then the ladies went home, while Marc and I went to Eagles Hall in Alameda to see who else is there he knows... we got there so late we didn't even had to pay!!!
Saturday July 11th
I get home after yoga-class, Marc is about ready to head out in to his "old" world. He was raised here and lived in Berkeley until the 70s then back a few times. But the last time he was here in the Bay Area is about 9 years ago, so he is all ready to go and explore his old neighborhoods.
I get busy with things around the house or on the computer and then go shopping at the Berkeley Bowl West, my new favorite grocery-store, walking distance from my house!!!
After being back from the "bowl" it's time to fill that fridge with fresh goodies...
