Who knows Where I am...

Tonight is my last night here in New York, Vicky gets home from her job as a School Principal Assistant Executive Board Member of the Bronxville River School. We have a glass of wine before we head out for a dinner. The plan is to eat at Sal's in Mamaroneck, a few towns north-east of Tuckahoe. Last year I had dinner there with her ex-husband Rudy, I want to go back there again, just for kicks. Sal's is this italian joint good for a quick and good bit to eat, Pizza and Pasta, with Salad or not, a no thrill show, good and cheap. A long line is waiting for us by the time we get there, but it moves fast and by the time it was our turn to order I still didn't know what I want, I let Vicky call the shots. She orders Pasta dish with Tomato Sauce, Eggplant Parmesan, and a Salad. Enough to feed the two of us and maybe even one more person that is not with us. We sit down in the back and wait for the food to appear. It does like magic, a guy drops of the bread, with the silverware and next thing we have a bowl of Salad with 2 plates, how does he know what we orderd at the counter, we have no number or some kind of ID tag of who we are. The rest of the food gets to the table after we're done with the Salad. Men I was trying to loose the ponds from my Louisiana adventures, but here in New York its the same, eat, eat and eat again.

Another delicious dinner, this time at Sal's in Mamaroneck...

After dinner a short walk to the little harbor-park, check out the local fishing situation and then back to the car, I'm tired and ready to hit the hay, after all I have to get-up early in the morning.
And I do wake-up even before the alarm who is supposed to make sure I don't sleep past 5:45. I'm all excited, ready to pack the rest of my stuff. Vicky gets up just in time to say "bye bye until next year..." and off I go. I mapped my way and follow its instructions to get me to the Hutchinson Parkway. Soon after that I slip into Connecticut, it is a beautiful morning, it is gonna be a hot day here, I can feel it. These parkways are so peaceful to drive, mostly in the woods or at least tree-lined and most important no trucks to share the road with. In the middle of this forest I spot the Hubbell Plant, an electrical parts manufacturer, with the symbol nicely made out of flowers, I guess that would be real appropriate here. After 82 miles of beauty I hit the reality of the Interstate again. I-91 North gets me through Hartford, CT. At trip-mile 5410 I park my car at a long-term parking area, take the Shuttle to Bradley International Airport. Here I have a flight with Southwest to go back to Oakland, CA. Yes, you read it right, no, I don't have enough yet, it is just that I booked this flight a long time ago to get back to Berkeley to be at the wedding of Juniper and Michael, with that there are a few more things that will happen for the short time I go back home for. My flight to Chicago leaves in time at 10:15. A 2 hour and 2 minute long flight I can barely make, because I'm so tired and I do have a headache since this morning. I actually managed to sleep quite a long time during the full flight. In Chicago I had a enough time to eat the pizza, Vicky had leftover from work, and packed for me. Headache still lingering I took the second load of Tylanol with lots of water for the fountain. At 2 o'clock I had my connection flight to Oakland and so three o'clock was above the clouds and I think asleep again... Not a bad way to get to places...

Having fun at the Midway airport in Chicago...

And what about Me???

My photo
Berkeley, California, United States
My life as a vagabond in the last few years got me to some amazing places, met great people and have lots of stories to share. I love exploring, travel, biking, dancing to Zydeco music, hanging out with friends, biking and many other things to keep me in trouble... best is when I can combine a few of these things together!!! Then there is the photography, writing and might as well do some cooking too, after all eating is another of my favorite thing!!!
