Before and after sheet-rock Feb. 18th 2007!
It has been exactly two years ago that I got my studio sheet-rocked... or I better say that Bob and his crew rocked it. Not much has happen to that area since then, I got it primed and the ceiling has one good coat of paint on but needs at least one more. But in the meantime I have been living in it on and off, mostly because I have the other rooms rented out and most of it because I like it down there and can't wait for it to be done... but that takes a lot more work then I was bargaining for, so might as well move it... on the other hand, this morning Victor showed up at my house and lots of things started to happen... the door from the kitchen to the studio got fixed, door-jambs started to move into place and so does the sawdust...
I am so thrilled that finally something gets done... Victor is a great carpenter who works for Tom, and we have worked together on the same job-sites over the years. The last project was last year in Piedmont, a villa that got its upstairs four bathrooms remodeled... and hundred other things by the time the job was done. It is the place where I was hanging the chandelier last Friday.
Of corse the way I have things planned is not how things are usually executed, like the door-jambs in the studio are exterior jambs that are cut in a miter and appear without a casing... because I think in a modern look, and so far it is the way I thought its gonna look like, love it!!!
For lunch I cooked us a great 5 egg omelet with refried beans and chips... I think we even had a beer with that... finished the Chai-tea and I had no coffee in the house to get the 3 o'clock boost!!!
It rained most of the time like cats and dogs... even had some lightning and thunder!!! We gained at least a half a inch of rain since the morning, a good thing for the reservoirs a not so good thing for me to get some work done... we had to cut, mill and sand inside the studio, that means a major saw-dust invasion is going on at my house... what fun it is gonna be to get that all cleaned-up again...
